Our Philosophy

Great ideas draw us back and give us pause. When we take a contemplative stance towards the important-in-itself, we find a window to the whole of reality. If reading without pause gets us more quickly to the end, and onto the next one, how much more valuable is a book left open and unfinished, that leaves us with something great to think about. The ancients understood contemplative thinking to be the highest human activity, and philosophy therefore our greatest achievement. Many great ideas across the history of philosophy are captured in one hundred pages or less. Recurring Pages honors this tradition by presenting works that are less about reading and more about thinking, works that can be thoughtfully completed in two or three consecutive sittings. Then re-turned to, indefinitely.

About Me

I completed graduate coursework in philosophy at The Catholic University of America and earned a BA in psychology from Williams College. My research interests fall within the Platonic / Augustinian tradition, specifically early phenomenology and the phenomenological realism of thinkers like Dietrich von Hildebrand (thesis forthcoming). Also a "songwriter/singer" of sorts, I recently released an EP titled "Half Glass Full," available on all major streaming platforms.
